Trekking around Ban Gioc – Nui Thung – Phia Thap

Morning:

• 8:00: Start a ~10 km trek from Khuoi Ky village (stone village of Tay people) to Lung Nieng village.

• Trek around the bottom of Nguom Ngao Cave, through rice fields and remote Tay villages.

• Optional: Walk through Nguom Ngao Cave (2 km long) filled with stalactites/stalagmites, a historic shelter during the Vietnam–China war.

• Picnic lunch on the way.

Afternoon (Optional for fit travelers):

• Climb to Nui Thung (Angel Eye Mountain) if water level allows.

• Pass through a waterfall, karst mountains, and forest.

• Discover a unique mountain with a giant hole in the middle.

• Enjoy a peaceful landscape with wild horses and buffalo.

Evening:

• Transfer back to Quang Uyen district.

• Explore Phia Thap – incense-making village surrounded by limestone peaks.

• Learn incense-making and meet friendly Nung locals.
